Oakglen above Lock 1.

Underneath the name 'Oakglen' can be seen the previous name, 'Federal Danube', in raised letters.
While the name may change any number of times, the IMO number remains with the ship for its entire existence, and it is found in various places about the ship.  This is an attempt to prevent pirates from stealing a ship and its cargo, repainting the name and selling the cargo elsewhere.
This is one of three ships that CSL bought a few years back as a stop-gap measure until their new ships were delivered.

Algoma also purchased three deep-sea ships as stop-gap measures.  This one, Algoma Guardian, was built in Split in the former Yugoslavia.

Oakglen is a bulk carrier and cannot unload itself.  Baie St Paul is a self-unloader and has the ability to unload itself very quickly, saving time and money at unloading docks.

Another oldie from CSL, Cedarglen.  This ship used to belong to Hall Corp before its demise.  Before that part of it was a deep-sea ship.

Notice the starboard bridge wing has been cut away, it is horizontally shorter than the port side.  This was to facilitate the ship docking at a place where an overhang from the dock prevented the ship from getting tight alongside.

My fave!  Because I sailed on it and because it's a classic fore and after.  Manitoba, formerly Maritime Trader and before that Teakglen and Mantadoc.
